About Kathy

My name is Kathy Cheney. I was born and raised in Watertown, New York and have lived here most of my life. Prior to me starting my mobile notary business, I was employed by a local company and notarized many important documents for them for 35 years. In addition, during this same time frame, I notarized many documents for people in the community.

As a mobile notary I will travel to your location to notarize any of your required documents. In order to notarize your documents, you will need to provide proof of your identity by presenting ID that has a photo, physical description and signature. Acceptable IDs include a valid driver’s license, valid military identification, or a valid passport.

FAQ

A Notary Public is an official of integrity appointed by the Secretary of New York State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.  These official acts are called notarizations, or notarial acts. A Notary Public cannot sign or witness the signing of documents where he/she has a personal interest.

Notarization is the official fraud-deterrent process that assures the parties of a transaction that a document is authentic, that its signature is genuine, and that its signer acted without duress or intimidation, and intended the terms of the document to be in full force and effect.
